1. Permitted use
Ledger & Lease may be used to record evidence of tenancy compliance actions performed by, or on behalf of, the account holder. Typical uses include recording the service of a statutory notice, information sheet, deposit confirmation, or comparable obligation.
2. Prohibited conduct
You must not use Ledger & Lease to:
- Create a record of an event that did not happen, or that you cannot reasonably evidence.
- Submit evidence you are not entitled to submit, or that infringes a third-party right.
- Impersonate another person, agent, or organisation.
- Harass, defame, or threaten any person, including tenants.
- Upload malware, attempt to probe the system, or interfere with other accounts.
- Use the service to send unsolicited bulk email or to launder mail.
- Scrape verification pages or use automated tooling that places undue load on the service.
- Use Ledger & Lease in any way that breaks applicable law in the place you are operating.
3. Tenant rights
Even where a proof record is correctly issued, it does not override tenant rights. A tenant may dispute the underlying action through the ordinary legal channels. We will respond to lawful requests from regulators and courts.
4. Reporting abuse
If you believe a record on Ledger & Lease is fraudulent or breaches this policy, contact office@ledgerandlease.co.uk with the verification short-code and a brief description. We aim to triage reports within five working days.
5. Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this policy, and we may remove public verification pages where required by law or by a lawful order. Where we remove a record, the verification page will indicate that the record is no longer available and why.
