1. Who we are
Ledger & Lease is operated by Ledger and Lease Ltd (company number 17226653), registered in England and Wales.
In these Terms, “Ledger & Lease”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Ledger and Lease Ltd. “You” means the person or business using the service. Legal notices may be sent to the contact details shown on this website or provided in your account or receipt.
For correspondence about these terms, write to office@ledgerandlease.co.uk.
2. What the service is
Ledger & Lease creates private, dated proof records from evidence you provide. Each record has a public verification link that confirms what was logged, when, against which source version, and at what evidence category.
A proof record is administrative. It is not legal advice and not a certificate of legal compliance. It does not prove a tenant received anything unless receipt evidence is attached. We do not operate a mailbox or document-storage service.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and acting in a tenancy-related capacity (landlord, letting agent, or authorised representative).
- Keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for activity carried out from your account.
- If you suspect unauthorised access, tell us immediately at office@ledgerandlease.co.uk.
4. Your responsibilities when creating records
- You confirm the facts before a proof record is issued. Once issued, a record is locked.
- You must only submit evidence you are entitled to submit, and you must not submit content that infringes any third party right.
- You agree that the information you record is accurate to the best of your knowledge at the time of issue.
5. Payment
Pricing is published on the Pricing page and at the point of issue. Payment is taken at the point a proof record is issued. Card processing is handled by Stripe; we do not store full card details. No VAT is charged on any purchase and the price shown is the final amount paid. The operating entity is identified in the Privacy notice.
6. Refunds
Refund conditions are set out in the Pricing & refund policy. In short: because each proof record is a custom, immediately delivered digital service, the statutory 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply once issue has begun, but we will refund records that fail to issue for reasons on our side.
7. Availability
We aim to keep Ledger & Lease available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance and incidents are published at service status.
8. Intellectual property
The Ledger & Lease brand, software, and proof-record design are ours or licensed to us. You retain ownership of the evidence and content you submit, and you grant us the licence required to operate the service, generate proof records, and host the public verification page for those records.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under English law. Subject to that:
- We do not provide legal advice. You are responsible for decisions made on the basis of, or in spite of, a proof record.
- Our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting office@ledgerandlease.co.uk. We may suspend or terminate access where the Acceptable use policy is breached. Proof records already issued remain available through their verification links unless we are required by law to remove them.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above tracks the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged on service notices before they take effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.
